Down the Hatch has been a Very Bothersome problem for me.
I own a home at 171 Balsam Street, and have been unable to sleep when a band is
playing. This noise should have never been allowed to occur in the first
place. It shows a disrespect for the neighbors, and is a "disturbance of the
peace".
No effort was made to keep the noise within the property limits, and appears to
me to have been done only to increase the sales of alcohol.
The Town of Fairhaven should not grant Down the Hatch a license to operate. From a financial point of view, I believe that the decrease in tax revenue to the Town, for property affected by the noise would be much greater than any increase in tax revenue from the sale of alcohol.
